Below are just a few of our former members who have gone on to a professional career: 
 

Lauren Hood 

Lauren was born and raised in Malton, North Yorkshire and as a young girl, attended Kirkham Henry Performing Arts Centre. She was also a member of MNMT, performing in pantomimes and productions such as Annie Get Your Gun and Oklahoma. Lauren was also a member of Ryedale Youth Theatre for many years as well as York Light Opera Society and Shipton Musical Theatre Company. She was then offered a scholarship to attend Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts where she graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) degree and won the Gyearbour Asante Award for Acting. 
 
Lauren made her professional debut playing the role of Carrie Pipperidge in the West End Production of Carousel, for which she received a TMA award nomination. Other theatre includes Oh What A Lovely War; Penny Pingleton in the national tour of Hairspray, Frenchy, cover Sandy in Grease (UK No1 tour), the leading role of L.V in Little Voice (Hull Truck); Gabriel in the Flint StreetNativity (Hull Truck); Laura in the UK Tour of Dreamboats and Petticoats and Martha in the UK and International tour of The Secret Garden. Television includes Victoria Wood’s Christmas Special and an advert for Staples Stationery.. 
 

Laurie Scarth 

Originally from North Yorkshire, Laurie began dancing at the age of 3 at The Kirkham Henry Performing Arts School, Malton and appeared in various shows for MNMT during her time in Malton. 
 
At 18 she went on to train at The Arts Educational School, Chiswick on the three year Degree course where she graduated with a 1st Class Honours in Musical Theatre. 
 
Laurie made her professional and West End debut playing Pink Lady Jan in Grease, at London’s Piccadilly Theatre for David Ian Productions. She then went on to play Martha in High School Musical at Hammersmith Apollo produced by Stage Entertainment and Disney as well as on the UK Tour where she also covered and played Ms Darbus. 
 
She was then lucky enough to be cast in the leading role of Tracy Turnblad in the 1st UK Tour of the smash hit musical Hairspray produced by Stage Entertainment. 
 
She then played Sister Mary Patrick in the UK Tour of Sister Act for Stage Entertainment. 
 
Other credits include Alice Fitzwarren in Dick Whittington at The Oxford Playhouse and Hannah in The WindRoad Boys Durham Gala Theatre. 
 
 
Scott Garnham

Scott graduated from The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a Masters Degree, before which he attended Kirkham Henry Performing Arts in Malton. Scott appeared in many shows with MNMT including 7 pantomimes, 6 musicals, numerous concerts and has even written a pantomime for the group. 
 
Professional theatre credits include Feuilly understudy Enjolras and Marius in Les Misérables (West End, Queens Theatre), Baron Von Gaigern in Grand Hotel (Southwark Playhouse) for which he was nominated for an Off West End Award for Best Leading Actor, Edgar Beane in Titanic (Princess of Wales Theatre, Toronto), Buddy Cortina in the original cast of Made in Dagenham (West End, Adelphi Theatre), J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (City of London Festival), understudy Liam O’Deary, Max and Hunchback in the original cast of I Can’t Sing (West End, London Palladium), Ronan Corr in the original cast of Eurobeat (West End, Novello Theatre), The 25th Anniversary of Les Misérables (O2 Arena), Jose Reize in Never Forget (UK Tour), Jason in Jason and the Argonauts (New Victory Theatre, New York), Billy in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice (UK Tour), Hunter in the UK premiere of [title of show] (Landor Theatre), Mr Lindquist in A Little Night Music (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre), Billy in Around the World with Billy Brite and Honk! The Ugly Duckling (Stephen Joseph Theatre). 
 
TV credits include Pompidou (BBC), Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (ITV).
